Why do we weld bronze?

Because we can.
Bronze can be very peculiar to weld. It can consist of several different and interesting copper alloys, all of which have different properties when welded.
As bronze has a low tensile strength at high temperatures, it is extra important to do it right from the start.
We use different welding methods together with specially selected filler materials, depending on the conditions of the component.
Sometimes we have to deviate from what is theoretically correct to get the best result. At Surftech, we have worked for many years with different welding methods and materials and we have created a large knowledge base of repair processes, our own "recipes" so to speak, for many different materials - even bronze.
If you have any questions or concerns about maintenance or repair of your components, in bronze or other materials, you are always welcome to contact us!
