WELDING
In order to be a maintenance workshop with very short lead times, we have, just like on the machining side, a lot to offer in welding.
We weld all types of steel, aluminum, bronze and a wide range of hard coatings of these materials.
The details we weld range from small components to entire machines, stands and industrial tanks in our large welding workshop.
The welding methods we most often use are MIG, TIG and MMA, but we can also repair and coat with Eutalloy welding and brazing.
The majority of our welding work is done in our own workshop, but of course we also perform welding on site at the customer's premises, with our On Site team.
To ensure consistent and high quality, and to meet our customers' requirements, we are certified according to ISO 3834-2 and EN 1090 and our welding production manager Robert is IWS certified. We also have Bas U/ Bas P.
WHY DO WE WELD BRONZE?
- Because we can.
Bronze can be very peculiar to weld. It can consist of several different and interesting copper alloys, all of which have different properties when welded.
As bronze has a low tensile strength at high temperatures, it is extra important to do it right from the start.
We use different welding methods together with specially selected filler materials, depending on the conditions of the component.
Sometimes we have to deviate from what is theoretically correct to get the best result. At Surftech, we have worked for many years with different welding methods and materials and we have created a large knowledge base of repair processes, our own "recipes", for many different materials - even bronze.
